While the snow falls, dream a little dream of a musical and possibly romantic Valentine’s Day cabaret!

The Chicago Ukulele Cabaret will be celebrating our anniversary in raucous style, serving up songs of love, lust, heartbreak, despair, and betrayal in honor of the devil on Cupids shoulder. This is the show that started it all!

4th Annual Great Midwest Ukefest - Sunday, August 25th at Chief-O’Neill’s Chicago

The Chicago Ukulele Cabaret is back with its 4th Annual Festival! Part curated showcase and part open-mic, this fest expands the cabaret show, allowing everyone to participate while showcasing several regular acts in full sets.

Where and when: Sunday 2pm, August 25th at Chief O’Neills, 3471 N Elston Ave. Chicago, IL

The afternoon will feature an extended open mic session and the curated evening portion will include full sets from perennial cabaret favorites such as Heavy Boxes, Bone and Bell, Jeffrey Weisfeld Combo, Tin Pan Sally and the Saddle Sores, Discarded Pearls, and Vic Miguel plus first time fest performers Tiberius.

This is the one CUC event each year with an entry fee ($10 advance, $12 at the door), but its for a good cause! Proceeds this year will again benefit The Intonation Music Workshop-a local non-profit organization providing band-based music education to children in Chicago’s under-served neighborhoods.

If you want to play in the open mic, sign up here:
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0D4DAEA722A2F49-ukefest

To sign up, you will need to submit an email address, but you do not need to create an account.

To make sure everyone gets a chance to play, we’re going to try slightly shorter 10 minute sets - that’s still time for 3, 3 minute songs - but we really want to accomodate everyone. If there’s not enough interest, then we can expand the length as needed. Hope everyone understands!

Tickets for the door are also available here:  http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/412930
